About Marlene Kenney

Hello! I’m Marlene Kenney
MA, LICSW
I have a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the National Catholic School of Social Service at Catholic University and a Master’s Degree in Anthropology from Northeastern University. My trauma focused practice was developed through practice in community mental health outpatient work, and in years of helping organizations and municipalities recover from traumatic events.
I am an EMDRIA approved consultant, clinician, and facilitator in EMDR Therapy. In 2020 I was chosen to be a member of the EMDRIA Council of Scholars, a select group of EMDR professionals whose goal is to chart the future of EMDR.
My Approach & Values
I was trained in deep listening and understanding systems, cultures and individual experience as an Anthropologist. I spent years in community mental health as an outpatient clinician before landing at Riverside Trauma Center, where I spent 9 years responding to critical incidents, training, and leading community meetings. Along the way I trained in EMDR Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Family Therapy, and mindfulness to shape a person centered and collaborative psychotherapy practice.
Marlene is dedicated to supporting organizations, colleges and universities and businesses through a critical incident with consultation, EMDR Therapy based groups, and individual support. I am a licensed clinicians trained in contemporary critical incident response with special expertise in suicide postvention.
